Nicholas & Co. Surveyors has secured a significant contract with the Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust, set to come into effect in March 2025. This contract will see the firm managing over 20 historic units across Hertfordshire. Among these sites include a Grade II* listed building from 1681, the Cromer Windmill, the Grade I listed Hertfordshire Castle Gatehouse and the famous "Judgment of Solomon" wall painting from 1576, exhibited at the Much Hadham Forge Museum.
The Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust, founded in 1963, has led the way in protecting buildings of architectural and historical importance. With its mission to preserve the region's rich heritage, the Trust plays a vital role in rescuing buildings at risk and giving them a new lease of life. In addition to its conservation efforts, the Trust organises seminars, exhibitions, and outreach programs aimed at educating the public, particularly young people, about the importance of heritage preservation.
Nicholas Zorpides, Founder of Nicholas & Co. Surveyors, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, commenting, "We are thrilled to have been awarded a contract by such a reputable, local organisation. This opportunity will be a valuable addition to our management portfolio, and we look forward to working closely with the Trust to continue preserving Hertfordshire's architectural heritage."
The Hertfordshire Building Preservation Trust has a long history of protecting the county's historic buildings. Since its formation, the Trust has taken on buildings that would otherwise have been condemned or demolished. In 1993, BEAMS Ltd was established as a subsidiary of the Trust to facilitate the restoration of listed buildings throughout Hertfordshire, working closely with local authorities, architects, and developers.
This new contract represents a major achievement for Nicholas & Co. Surveyors, furthering its reputation for excellence in managing heritage properties. The company's expertise will be essential in ensuring that these sites remain preserved for future generations to appreciate.
