Nicholas & Co. Surveyors Supports Local Charities This December

This December, Nicholas & Co. Surveyors is proud to be supporting local charities. As part of the company’s ongoing commitment to giving back to the local community, Nicholas & Co. will be making a donation to three incredible charities: Jedidah, Mudlarks Garden, and Alexander Care.

Jedidah is a UK-based charity that addresses food insecurity by providing free access to healthy food while reducing waste. Operating Fresh Food Pantries in Hertford, Buckingham, and Northampton, Jedidah distributes surplus food collected from local supermarkets, orchards, and restaurants. Jedidah was founded during the COVID-19 pandemic and initially provided food parcels to thousands of families through schools. Today, they emphasise sustainability and dignity, supporting individuals and families during challenging times. Nicholas and Co. are continuing their vital support for Jedidah, building on the success of last year’s generous donations. Their ongoing contributions enable the charity to expand its reach and ensure that more individuals and families have access to fresh, nutritious food when they need it most.

Mudlarks is a Hertford-based charity which supports adults and young people with learning disabilities and mental health concerns. Through supported learning and meaningful community work, Mudlarks’ projects help young adults build confidence and self-worth whilst gaining important skills. Mudlarks runs an allotment, gardening team, a woodland centre and The Mudlarks Cafe, which provides training, work experience and employment opportunities for adults with learning disabilities. 

Alexander Care is a not-for-profit organisation that provides care and assistance for families to support their children with special needs and disabilities. The charity was founded to help raise funds to support families and improve research into a better understanding of conditions. Nicholas Zorpides, founder of Nicholas & Co. Surveyors, started the charity for his brother, Alexander, who has severe learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder. His condition is known as STXBP1, which affects 1 in 30,000 children and is characterised by abnormal brain function and intellectual disability, where neurological problems continue throughout life. Alexander Care hopes to raise awareness, improve research, and support families. 

This year, Nicholas & Co. have undertaken several initiatives to support Alexander Care, including sponsoring fees through the Arrowsmith School, which works with children with special needs, and funding a sponsored trip to Rome. These efforts reflect their ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families supported by the charity.
